What to expect from your appointment

Our physiotherapists will take a full and comprehensive history and will work with you to guide you towards your pelvic health goals. A thorough assessment will follow which may include a transabdominal or transperineal ultrasound, and /or an internal rectal examination if appropriate to accurately assess the pelvic floor muscles and formulate a specific and targeted management plan.

Real Time Ultrasound

Your physiotherapist may use the latest real time ultrasound imaging technology to assess and treat your pelvic floor and abdominal muscles. This technology allows us to visualise the deep pelvic floor muscles to ensure you are activating your muscles correctly. It can be used as a visual teaching tool to provide you with feedback to maximise your learning and muscle performance.
