Pre + Post Natal Pilates

Pre + Post Natal Pilates Classes in Ivanhoe, Victoria

At Perform we treat everyone as an individual. Every pregnancy is different, every birthing experience is different and everyone recovers from pregnancy and their delivery at varied rates. Therefore, we do not offer generic pregnancy and post-natal pilates classes.

Instead, we meet everyone individually, in either an Initial Pregnancy Pilates Assessment or a Postnatal Pilates Assessment. In these consultations we take a thorough history, perform a detailed assessment, and talk to you about your goals and physical requirements. From there you will participate in one on one individual clinical pilates sessions with your Physiotherapist, so they can develop an individualised pilates and exercise program specific for your goals and needs. You are then able to transition into our Semi-Private Clinical Pilates Classes, where you will have the freedom and choice of over 35 classes per week to suit your schedule.

We meet everyone individually, in either an Initial Pregnancy Pilates Assessment or a Postnatal Pilates Assessment.

Initial Pregnancy Pilates Assessment

In this consultation our Pregnancy Physiotherapists will perform a full physical assessment reviewing your movement patterns and biomechanics, assessing your pelvic stability, and any other injuries or pain you may have. The Physio will also teach you correct pelvic floor exercises and introduce you to exercises on our clinical pilates equipment.

These exercises will then form the basis of your individualised Clinical Pilates program that will enable you to participate in our Semi-Private Move + Load Clinical Pilates and Exercise Classes.

Initial Post-Natal Pilates Assessment

In this consultation our Pelvic Floor Physiotherapists will perform a full physical assessment reviewing your biomechanics and movement patterns, assessing your abdominal muscle separation and any other injuries or pain you may have.

The physio will also review and teach correct pelvic floor exercises and introduce you to exercises on our clinical pilates equipment that are specific to your needs.

These exercises will then form the basis of your individualised clinical pilates program that will enable you to participate in our Semi-Private Move + Load Clinical Pilates and Exercise Classes.
